Roles and Access

Sacramentum uses a role-based access system to ensure that priests, administrators, and parishioners have access to the features they need while keeping sensitive data secure.

Overview of Roles

There are three primary roles in Sacramentum:

  1. Administrator: Full control over parish settings, users, and schedules.
  2. Priest: Focused on managing personal schedules, availability, and Mass intentions.
  3. User (Parishioner): Can view public information and request services like Mass intentions.

Administrator

Administrators act as the managers of the parish's digital presence. They have the highest level of access within a parish.

Key capabilities:

  • Manage all users, locations, and schedules
  • Oversee Mass intentions from request to fulfillment
  • Coordinate sacramental celebrations (Baptisms, Weddings, Funerals, Quinceaneras)
  • Configure parish settings, payments, and email
  • Access financial reports, invoices, receipts, and payouts
  • Manage facility bookings and visitation ministry (when enabled)
Admin-Priests

An Administrator can also be a Priest. When creating an admin user, check the "Also a priest" option. This gives full administrative powers while also allowing assignment to Masses and claiming intentions.

Priest

The Priest role is streamlined for liturgical schedule and ministry duties.

Key capabilities:

  • View personal calendar with assigned Masses, Confessions, and events
  • Manage your own Mass intentions (view assigned, claim from pool, mark fulfilled)
  • Access sacramental celebration details (Weddings, Baptisms, Funerals)
  • Set recurring availability and schedule time off
  • Update personal profile and preferred title (Fr., Msgr., etc.)
Priest Limitations

Priests cannot edit the schedules of other priests or change parish-wide settings unless they are also Administrators.

User (Parishioner)

This is the standard role for anyone who registers with the parish. It provides a personal dashboard to manage your interactions with the parish.

Key capabilities:

  • View pending requests, upcoming Masses, and fulfilled intentions at a glance
  • Track intention request status (Pending, Scheduled, Fulfilled)
  • Access complete intention history and claim past guest requests
  • View and pay invoices, download receipts
  • Manage personal profile and contact details

Troubleshooting

I can't see the "Settings" menu

You likely have the Priest role instead of Administrator. Contact another parish administrator to update your role if you need additional access.

I can't be assigned to a Mass

Ensure your account is marked as a Priest or Admin (Also a priest). Standard Administrators without the priest designation cannot be assigned to liturgical events.
